Frank H. Wotton III, MSW, LICSW, LADC I, CEO.

In Memory of Our Founder Frank H. Wotton III

Frank H. Wotton, III was a man of deep and abiding faith and a consummate people person through and through. He translated his early love of family into a passion and career for professionally serving the family of man women and children in his home town of Holyoke when he established Living Water Counseling Center in 2012. Early in his career, Frank championed a now mainstream but once very radical treatment philosophy of serving individuals with simultaneous substance abuse and mental health conditions with an integrated or holistic approach. In the 2010’s, Frank then became an early collaborator with doctors and organizations that pioneered Medically Assisted Treatment (MAT) for opioid dependence and other addictions. Noticing the predominance of trauma and anxiety in so many people he served, in 2010 Frank became one of the first in Massachusetts trained and certified in a most innovative treatment technique known as Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART). Frank discovered in time ART to be also very effective with most other mental/behavioral health issues. In 2020 he was proud to scholarship ART training for four LWCC clinicians. Frank’s vision for Living Water Counseling Center was based on a holistic recovery model that embraces development of mind, body and spirit. It was Frank’s conviction, experience and now his legacy through LWCC, that addiction and mental health conditions are de-stigmatized by this holistic model. As he saw things, each person is a complex and wondrous sojourner worthy of dignity and compassion on this amazing and challenging walk of Life. For all of us who had the great fortune of knowing, working with, and coming to love Frank, his untimely passing still carries with it a deep sorrow. And yet Living Water Counseling Center and all it stands for will forever be a shining legacy to Frank, the healer, this visionary, a great colleague and friend. A pillar of our community. We will never forget you, Frank! And we will carry on in your memory!
